Cheese & Vegemite Scrolls
Recipe type: Side Dishes
  • 2½ cups of self-raising flour (plus extra to dust)
  • 500g vegan plain yoghurt
  • 250g vegan grated cheese (or however much you like)
  • Vegemite
  • Non-dairy milk for basting
  1. Preheat oven to 190˚C
  2. In a bowl, knead the flour & yoghurt together until you have a soft dough, adding more flour if needed. Remember, this dough will feel soft
  3. Split the dough into two and roll out into 20cm x 30xm rectangles on lightly floured baking paper or silicone mats
  4. Spread with Vegemite right to the edges and then sprinkle with cheese
  5. Roll the dough up gently from the shortest side finishing with the seal underneath
  6. Gently cut into 8 even scrolls each and lay them on a lined baking tray, 1-2 cms apart
  7. Baste with milk and bake for 15 minutes or until golden and cheese has melted
